John Cena Buried WWE Legend Backstage

The pro-wrestler-turned-actor John Cena seemingly did not want to work with the former WWE star Chris Masters, as per his claims. Masters was released by WWE back in 2007 before and he had another stint with the company which started in 2009 and ended a couple of years later. On this week’s episode of the Two Man Power Trip of Wrestling Chris Masters discussed his working experience with Cena during his time in the WWE. It was noted that John Cena posted a cryptic WWE Royal Rumble photo.

Chris Masters opens up on working experience with John Cena

Chris Masters revealed that John Cena had expressed his displeasure while working with him. Here is what he said about the 16-time World Champion:

I Just don’t think John was too big on working with me at the time,” Masters revealed. I think it was just a little more difficult for us to have good matches with each other. I think it was just that Shawn was easy to have matches with, but Shawn had so much experience too.” We (Cena and Masters) never got a good rhythm in terms of our working. That was probably my fault, but it’s hard to say for sure. I just remember that there were some times where Cena had voiced displeasure in my work.”

Masters added:

“It’s just, I think that I had some issues too, around that time. So maybe that contributed to some of that, who knows for sure, but for whatever reason, I just felt like Cena just didn’t take too much pleasure working with me and maybe he felt like I didn’t give him enough of a chance, so I don’t know. I don’t know the specifics. It’s been such a long time.”

Masters had changed his ring name to Adonis and has been competing on the independent circuit. He also became the NWA National Heavyweight Champion. It was previously speculated that he would be making a return to WWE at the recently-concluded Royal Rumble Premium Live Event.
