John Cena Missed Smackdown For Bad Reason

WWE SmackDown this week was certainly one for the books as it featured Bianca Belair defending her WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Zelina Vega. However, one notable name not on the program tonight is the former multi-time WWE Champion and number one contender to ‘The Head of the Table’ Roman Reigns’ WWE Universal Championship, John Cena. Cena recently broke his silence on the release of Bray Wyatt.

Sean Ross Sapp stated on the Fightful podcast that he couldn’t believe that Cena was at Raw and Smackdown this week and not used on television. However, it should be noted that Cena teamed up with The Mysterios to take on Roman Reigns and The Usos after the show for the Tampa Bay crowd in a dark match.

In other news involving John Cena, former WWE Universal Champion Finn Balor recently discussed John Cena signing the WWE Universal Championship contract that was meant for him. Balor made the following remarks during a Facebook interview with WWE Germany.

“Of course [Cena taking his contract hit a nerve], but in the same situation, I’m sure I would have done the same. So I gotta respect that, and respect the approach he came with. But I really believe that myself and Roman have unfinished business. Roman accepted the challenge, so it may not be SummerSlam, but I’m sure we’ll get down to business once Roman and John is handled…”
