Kevin Owens out with ankle injury

Kevin Owens was a part of one of the best matches of WrestleMania weekend. Well, two matches, technically. The former Universal Champion defeated Seth Rollins via DQ, then by pinfall after breaking the Monday Night Messiah through a table. It was an incredible win for Owens, but up until now, he’s yet to capitalize on the momentum he’d gotten.

Now, it seems we know why. Owens revealed in an interview with RDS in Quebec, that he’s been out with an ankle injury. According to Owens, he’s been dealing with it since his WrestleMania match. In fact, it was that iconic fall from the WrestleMania set at the Performance Center.

Kevin Owens is scheduled to undergo x-rays soon to see just how serious his injury is. Luckily, it’s nothing too bad, and we could see him back sometime after Money in the Bank. However, even if it’s not anything that requires surgery, Owens may be fine with staying home for a while. During his interview, he said:

The great thing about WWE is that it doesn’t require us to be there if we don’t want to. This is also why in the last two weeks I have not been present, because I preferred to be at home with my family.
