On Smackdown Live, Asuka won the battle royal and was inserted into the TLC match between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair at WWE TLC on December 16th.
Becky Lynch will be defending her Smackdown Women’s Title in the match. But fans do wonder why Asuka was included in the match in the first place.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez discussed Asuka’s inclusion and noted one of the reasons for her being in the match. He wondered what kind of condition Becky Lynch would be, coming off of a concussion.
So, the reason for Asuka competing in the match is so that Becky wouldn’t have to do too much work. This would leave Asuka and Charlotte Flair to battle for most of the match, while Becky isn’t put at any risk.
WWE, of course, is trying to keep Becky healthy and it is understandable. If her Last Woman Standing match with Charlotte is anything to go by, The Man is sure to do something memorable in the match. Hopefully, Becky retains the title.
