Matt Hardy had to go home due to all the punishment his body had suffered while competing in the ring. He is currently rehabilitating his injuries. He is apparently working for WWE in a backstage capacity according to reports.
As it turns out, his announcement that he was going home was not a retirement. However, no definite timeline for his return has been set.
Hardy said to Akhilesh Gannavarapu, where he said:
“Whenever I was ‘going home’ there were some issues, some nagging injuries I was dealing with. I had to go home and do some rehabilitation.”
“As far as a timetable of when I’m going to return, I don’t have an exact timetable but I would say sooner than later”
This is certainly good news for fans of Matt Hardy who hope to see him wrestle once again and dazzle them. While it can be sooner rather than later, we hope Matt does not rush it. After all, he has taken a lot of abuse over the years.
