On this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Kofi Kingston came out and faced Sami Zayn in a 1-on-1 match. After a great match, Kingston managed to put away Zayn but then Zayn’s partner, Kevin Owens, challenged Kingston to another match which he accepted.
However, Kingston was able to defeat Owens too, albeit via a count-out but it was a victory nonetheless. A joyous Kingston made his way to the back, celebrating his victory before he was attacked by none other than Samoa Joe.
Joe took out Kingston and beat him up on the ramp until he was borderline unconscious. The referees came out to check on Kingston but Joe came back again and put the WWE Champion in the vicious Coquina Clutch.

Joe, who lost his United States Championship to Ricochet at last night’s Stomping Grounds events, seems to have his sight set on the WWE Championship. However, recent reports suggest that Kevin Owens might also be in line for a shot at the title so Joe might not be the only contender for the title.
