Oscar de la Hoya Accused Of Lying About Illness

Oscar de la Hoya was touted as one of the best boxers in the world when he was active. He retired back in 2008 but was set to come out of retirement in his boxing match against Vitor Belfort on September 11th. Unfortunately, Oscar de la Hoya contracted COVID-19 and was left hospitalized. Oscar de la Hoya also revealed the drug Mike Tyson used. 

 


 

MMA fighter Jake Shields took to Twitter and joked that Oscar de la Hoya did not get fully vaccinated, though Oscar claimed he has, questioning his story about contracting COVID.

Sources at Triller confirmed to MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin that the Sept. 11 boxing event, which will be headlined by  Evander Holyfield and former UFC light heavyweight champion Vitor Belford, will now be taking place at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida as reported by Yahoo! Sports was first to report the change.

The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. However, Holyfield was not cleared to compete by the California State Athletic Commission. Sources at the CSAC confirmed Holyfield was not able to be licensed in time to make the fight due to his age.
