Report: Interesting detail about Rey Mysterio’s current WWE contract

Rey Mysterio signed a new contract with WWE back in September 2018 and now a report has revealed an interesting detail about his current deal with the company.

According to Paul Davis of WrestlingNews.co, Mysterio’s current contract has an opt-out clause after 18 months meaning that the former World Champion could leave the company around WrestleMania if he chooses.

Though Davis went on to mention how the company has plans for Rey’s son Dominik to wrestle in 2020 and claimed that the chances of him leaving the promotion are pretty slim:

“Mysterio will have more leverage now that All Elite Wrestling is up and running as a weekly TV show but given that WWE has plans for his son Dominik to wrestle in 2020, I would say the chances of him leaving are slim.”

Rey Mysterio is currently scheduled to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE title at Survivor Series on November 24 and it was announced this week that this match will be a no holds barred bout.
