Sharing the highest number of WWE Championships with John Cena at 16, Hall-of-Famer Ric Flair has earned numerous accolades throughout his time in the pro wrestling business.
However, there is one match that stands out for him when it comes to the greatest moment of his career – his retirement match with Shawn Michaels.
The Nature Boy recently appeared on the Season 4 Finale of Kevin Hart’s show Cold As Balls, and revealed his favorite moment in wrestling, among other things.
“You know I get asked that a lot, and there has been so many, but it would be the match with Shawn (Michaels). It was great, at 59 years old.”

Ric Flair faced Shawn Michaels at WrestleMania 24 putting his career on the line as part of a storyline where a loss would have meant retirement for the WWE Hall-of-Famer.

Ric Flair: Shawn is the Greatest
Ric Flair recently named Shawn Michaels as the greatest in-ring performer in the wrestling business. Flair added that at 59 years of age, he did not have the self-confidence like before to “rise to the occasion”. But HBK made it look like he did.
“It is not arguable anymore, Shawn is the greatest worker in the history of our business. I think everybody would give that to him… He carried me in my farewell retirement match, no matter how many people want to think I was holding up my end of it, I was trying to get through it.”
Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels recently appeared together for The Undertaker’s Final Farewell. Before that, they were involved in a segment when Randy Orton was feuding with Drew McIntyre over the WWE Championship.
