Rob Van Dam could return to WWE Raw for a match with United States Champion Matt Riddle, if Riddle has his way. Rob Van Dam ‘Got High’ With A Smackdown Tag Team?
Riddle told WWE India, “I don’t know if I want to go one on one with him or I want to form a super tag team with him. We got mutual respect for one another but I think we can also fight one another too. He is the newly inducted Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam. If I can get a singles match or a tag match with Rob Van Dam, I would be pretty juice.“
“I looked up to his career early on and my career and his work rate, the way he talks, the way he does his things. He didn’t care. I don’t care. He is one of a kind.”
RVD discussed being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on After the Bell with Corey Graves.
He said, “It feels like it’s some credibility that can’t be taken away,” Van Dam said. “Everything is up for opinion and the whole idea of a good anything is subjective. To me, when I think about it, it’s got to be better than winning any world championships. I don’t imagine everybody who ever gets to hold a world champion is as impactful on everybody’s lives. Probably not every champion is going to be as memorable and maybe not every champion is going to be a legend that people remember. I think this is an even higher prestige, being in the Hall of Fame with all the superstars that influenced me and inspired me when I was growing up and a lot of the great talent I was wrestling with.
It’s great to be considered by the WWE Universe to be worthy. For the last several years when I would get interviewed or talk to fans, they would say ‘Future Hall of Famer,’ and just that they saw me as that worthy, was good enough for me. I didn’t really know if this was going to happen or not, actually being inducted, but having Vince McMahon and also [Triple H] officiate and credit everything that I’ve done as a body of career is pretty awesome.”
