Roman Reigns answers if he has plans for Hollywood after WWE

Roman Reigns is currently back on WWE SmackDown as the Tribal Chief with Paul Heyman by his side. He made a surprise return on SummerSlam and went on to win the Universal Championship on WWE Payback.

He defended his title successfully at Clash of Champions last Sunday against his cousin Jey Uso.

In the 8 months he was away from the ring, Roman Reigns got quite a few opportunities come his way. Some of them were from Hollywood as well. He shared in an interview with Complex’s Load Management Podcast on whether or not he considered taking them up.

Roman Reigns on Hollywood dreams

When asked if he has aspirations for a career in Hollywood, Reigns revealed that he certainly does. The only reason why he turned down the offers was because he was waiting to get back to doing his “day job”.

“I think so. It was tough for me because I had opportunities come my way in the last 8 months but because I wasn’t working I felt weird about trying to take on other opportunities when the mainstream of my income wasn’t being taken care of.  I was at home because of the pandemic. I put everything aside, project wise, off until I got back to doing what I do with my day job. But yea, you can’t fall down your whole life.” H/T: Wrestling News

A career in pro-wrestling is not something one can hold down for an indefinite period. Roman Reigns knows that and is willing to give himself three more years of action before he makes a switch to something else – Hollywood, if the right opportunities come along.

“I have like 3 more years of bumps for sure, but I don’t want to use them. I think Hollywood if the right opportunities come my way and it all works out, I would definitely be into it.  There is nothing like creating and seeing the magic happen. I think it would be a natural fit to work my way in a smaller role situation and learn as much as I can and gather as much info and possible and one day I could hold it down and be that lead guy. I don’t want to rush into anything. I’m enjoying what I’m doing now. If the right opportunity came, I would be game.”

On his Mount Rushmore

Naming his Mount Rushmore of WWE, Roman Reigns named The Undertaker first, followed by The Rock. Stone Cold Steve Austin was next. Reigns was torn between John Cena and Hulk Hogan for the last name on the list, but went with Hogan in the end.

“I guess I’m going to go with Hulk.  John, I don’t think anyone ever as a whole career sold more merchandise than John Cena.  That’s just a true testament to Hulk Hogan and what he did but I think what really, and maybe because of where I am at in my career, but the revamping of Hulk Hogan and the NWO to be able to transition his career for an other 3 or 4 years allowed him to utilize the bad side to then bring back the red and yellow and be the old Hulk Hogan as well.”

His current storyline hints at a possible future showdown with The Rock. Fans are speculating it might happen at WrestleMania 37 next year. When asked about it, Roman Reigns said if anyone can bring The Rock back to the ring, it is him.
