Ronda Rousey Injured WWE Star After Sad Botch

The reigning WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair is certainly one of the top stars of the company. Fans had been missing her for a long time. She finally made her return to SmackDown and challenged Ronda Rousey for the title. Ronda Rousey lost her title to Charlotte on SmackDown, and botched a promo beforehand, wondering if Charlotte wanted a match at SummerSlam, then correcting herself and stating the Royal Rumble. Rousey had successfully defended her title against Raquel Rodriguez but ‘The Queen’ made her return and dethroned Rousey. Now, WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair has revealed the reason for Charlotte’s hiatus.

Reason for Charlotte Flair’s absence revealed

Charlotte Flair had been away from WWE programming since she lost the SmackDown Women’s Championship to Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania Backlash in May this year.  After that match in Providence, R,I., WWE wrote Flair off television by claiming she had suffered a fractured radius. In reality, Flair was scheduled to take time away from WWE to marry AEW star, Andrade El Idolo in Mexico. The pair tied the knot at the end of May after becoming engaged in January 2020.

While speaking on After The Bell with Corey Graves, WWE Hall Of Famer Ric Flair talked about Charlotte Flair’s return to WWE television. Ric Flair revealed that his daughter took time off to get dental surgery and spend a lot of time with her husband and AEW star Andrade El Idolo:

“I’m so happy for her, and they’re very, very happy, and you know what happened? It happened at a time where she could take a break, where they didn’t get married and then go back to work. The arm thing with Ronda Rousey and she got hit in the mouth in that same match and had a major issue with her teeth, which are from all the years of cheerleading, wrestling, and whatever else, but it was a well deserved rest. I mean, sometimes it’s good to walk away from it. There’s certainly no loss of respect losing to Ronda Rousey. I mean, I thought they had a hell of a match and it was a good opportunity for her to get away. She and Manny (Andrade) had an opportunity to spend a lot of time together. They bought a new home. I mean, it’s really been good for them, but at the same time, I know how bad she wanted to get back into it. After a while, all that gets old and now I want back in.”
