Former UFC Star and RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey has not been on WWE television since WrestleMania 35, where she lost her title to Becky Lynch in a triple threat match in the main event of the pay-per-view, which also featured Charlotte Flair. Ronda Rousey’s return date was also previously confirmed.
Ronda Rousey’s original WWE contract has already expired. As reported by the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ronda Rousey’s WWE contract was set to expire last month. It is likely the company extended it somehow as the belief is that she will be returning to the company.
Ronda Rousey’s long-time friend Jessamyn Duke was among many NXT Superstars who were recently fired by the company. There were plans for her to team up with Shayna Baszler, Marina Shafir and Ronda Rousey to face off against Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that Jessamyn Duke had suffered an injury prior to her WWE release and that might have been what kept her off of WWE television for so long.
“I think that she has been hurt some. The Four Horsewomen thing, which is why she was brought in. Obviously, it was never gonna happen. I thought she was doing reasonably well, but but then she got hurt.”
