Rumor: WWE talking to big name for SmackDown 1000 appearance

WWE is set to celebrateĀ the historical 1000th episode of SmackDown Live on 16th of October later this year, and they are reportedly trying to bring a big star in for the show.

According to Barnburnerā€™s Fired Up podcast, WWE is talking to none other than the Rock to make an appearance at the upcoming special SmackDown episode.

Not only that but the podcast reports that the Officials are very close to booking the Great One for the show, so the expectation of his appearance are high.

The Rock is known to be the star who came up with the SmackDown slang which later became the name of WWE’s second brand so it would make a lot of sense for him to be at the 1000th episode of the show.

No word yet on what he will be doing at the event but chances are that he will be seen in a role similar to the Raw 1000th episode a few years back.

  • Steven Stevens

    Hulk Hogan.

  • Wicka Steve

I absolutely will, but Rock showing up “live via satellite” doesn’t count. I could show up live via satellite, that doesn’t mean a thing.

  • Nicholas Giambattista

If they do will you admit you were wrong because I believe The Rock will show up.

  • Wicka Steve

Mark my words: no big names from the past will appear on this show. They may stack it with big matches, but you won’t see Rock, or Edge or Lesnar, probably not even the Undertaker. I doubt they’ll even bring Vicki back for the show. You will get an Eddie Guerrero video package, I’m sure. Mysterio might make his return that night, but unless you’ve been clamoring to see Rey lose to Hundred Souls, don’t expect anything good.
