Shaq Furious After Lawyer Humiliates Him In Car

According to Yahoo, Shaquille O’Neal, the legendary basketball player, is seeking to have his FTX lawsuit dismissed, citing that the way he was served with the legal documents was “inadequate.” The legal case is related to a proposed class-action filed by investors against several celebrities and public figures who endorsed Sam Bankman-Fried’s failed cryptocurrency exchange, FTX. The lawsuit seeks to hold endorsers, including Tom Brady, Steph Curry, and Larry David, accountable for their role in promoting FTX, which subsequently imploded in November, resulting in fraud charges for senior figures at the company.

According to tweets from The Moskowitz Law Firm, which is involved in the case, O’Neal was served with the legal papers outside his house after a three-month chase. The law firm tweeted on April 17 that O’Neal’s home video cameras recorded the service, and they made it very clear that he should not destroy or erase any of these security tapes, as they must be preserved for the lawsuit.

However, lawyers for O’Neal are now seeking to dismiss the claims against him, stating that the legal documents were not properly served. They argued in a court filing that the papers were “tossed” in front of O’Neal’s car as he drove out of his Georgia house and left “on the road where they landed.” They also emphasized that O’Neal did not evade service, as he was not at the residences where plaintiffs belatedly attempted service or driving past strangers who approached his car.

The Moskowitz Law Firm’s managing partner, Adam Moskowitz, expressed disappointment and surrealism with the situation in a statement to Insider. He claimed that the video would show O’Neal finally being served after months of hiding and possibly attempting to injure the process server. Moskowitz urged O’Neal and his lawyers to stop running and finally deal with the serious allegations.

Bloomberg reported that after dozens of failed attempts to deliver the papers to O’Neal, lawyers previously tried to serve him with an electronic link sent to his social media. However, the presiding judge did not allow the method. As of now, representatives for Shaq have not responded to Insider’s request for comment.
