Shawn Michaels reflects on the in-ring chemistry with The Undertaker

Shawn Michaels, the WWE Hall of Famer and the WWE legend, The Undertaker have had some memorable and show-stealing bouts in the past.

Speaking with Brent Brookhouse of CBS Sports, ahead of The Undertaker’s Final Farewell at Survivor Series pay-per-view, HBK talked about how they had the chemistry everytime sharing the ring together.

Shawn Michaels opens up on recognizing “uncanny” chemistry with The Undertaker

The WWE Hall of Famer and The Deadman had their first singles match at ‘In Your House 17: Grand Zero’ back in 1997. Following that, it was the debut of Hell in a Cell concept at ‘In Your House: Badd Blood’, where both the stars created history.

But, Michaels stated his favourite match with The Phenom was at Wrestlemania 25. It is difficult to pull off a great match until the performers have a good in-ring chemistry. Both the stars excelled in their own way that night.

Michaels said:

“The perfect one is always going to be 25 to me. But the first time in Louisville [In Your House 17 was special] getting in there with a guy you’ve never really been in there with and you recognize the uncanny chemistry you have with someone.”

HBK recalled not being good friends with The Undertaker but they had an amazing working relationship. It is also surprising to him that they shared a great chemistry in the ring without talking with each other. He then named the favourite matches.

He said:

“Look, Mark and I were never friends. We weren’t close, and we didn’t ride together. Usually you have that chemistry with guys who you did do that with where you have at least a little more positive working relationship. Mark and I had just fantastic chemistry without ever really even talking to each other, which is pretty different. My two favorite matches I’ll always enjoy will be the Hell in a Cell and fast forward what feels like 100 years later. To me, that’s probably one of the most perfect things I’ve ever seen or done, and I think there are a lot of people who feel the same way.”

The Undertaker will see his Final Farewell at Survivor Series on Sunday, November 22.
