Shinsuke Nakamura on when he plans to retire from pro wrestling

“The King Of Strong Style” Shinsuke Nakamura has had a long career in the squared ring and revealed his plans in the near future in an interview with StraitTimes.com.

Nakamura made his name in the New Japan Pro Wrestling from where he switched his trade to the WWE, where he is currently present since 2016. The former United States Champion was first a part of the NXT setup before transitioning into the main roster.

During the interview, which was conducted to hype the WWE live event slated to take place on June 27 in Singapore, Nakamura went on to reveal his retirement plans. The wrestler plans onto wrestle for five more years before calling it a day. He stated:

“I want to wrestle at least five more years. I’m 39 now. (Former MLB) baseball player Ichiro Suzuki retired at 45 and he was such an influence for Japanese sportsmen, especially those who lived in other countries. And so I need to wrestle until I’m 45 years old.”

Nakamura is scheduled to challenge Seth Rollins for the Universal Championship at the Singapore Indoor Stadium later this month.
