Shinsuke Nakamura Turns Down Move To Raw

On the latest episode of the “Nitty Gritty Dirt Show” on RussosBrand.com, host Billi Bhatti and former WWE writer Vince Russo, discussed how Shinsuke Nakamura reportedly turned down a move that would have sent the former United States Champion to RAW and would have featured a big push along with it. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Bhatti’s comments below.

Bhatti: “Everything that was done on Smackdown by Nakamura was supposed to be done by Kevin Owens. The whole Adam Pearce thing was supposed to take place. So that’s not a change. Now though, Nakamura being in that spot and turning babyface was completely switched up from Kevin Owens and Nakamura just slotted straight into that match where Owens would have been.”

Bhatti continued:

Bhatti: “In addition to that, we were talking about Nakamura was supposed to move to RAW and was supposed to get a push. This is something that they have been wanting to do for a while but Nakamura didn’t want to go to RAW because of the way his schedule is set out with his family. Nakamura has a family that is living in Florida, they moved into the area and he has a whole routine set up which is centered around him working on Friday. So, he put that first ahead of a professional wrestling push but it’s a push that he’s getting anyway.

In other news concerning the man whole Michael Cole calls ‘Shin’, the old entrance music for Shinsuke Nakamura, “Shadows of the Setting Sun,” returned on the most recent edition of WWE Friday Night SmackDown. Nakamura commented on his old theme music coming back on social media via Twitter. You can view Nakamura’s remarks below:
