Fans erupt after waiting to get refund

Ticketholder Olivia Conway-Moore said fans were told by Ticketek that they could receive a refund for their tickets within 30 business days, back in July.

“Unfortunately almost three months later refunds have not come,” she said.

Snoop was set to play a couple of major outdoor shows in Auckland and Christchurch in November as part of the I Wanna Thank Me tour. But the hip hop artist announced via social media in May that he was cancelling all of his upcoming tour dates outside the United States, citing “unforeseen scheduling conflicts, including family obligations and upcoming TV and film projects”. The presenter of the tour, TradeMark Live, then said in June the shows were not cancelled, but instead postponed until 2023 with an unconfirmed date.

It has been also noted that Conway Moore’s friend purchased four $118 tickets through Ticketek for the Christchurch show, but decided to get a refund when Snoop Dogg said it was cancelled.

“My friend who purchased the tickets has contacted Ticketek via email, phone and even visited the Wellington office. They were very lovely but were only agents for Ticketek so couldn’t really help, unfortunately.”

The card that had originally been used to purchase the tickets had expired, so the friend had to complete a form for the refund which she did and returned in August.

“We thought maybe it was because of this they had put it into the too hard basket but then when we went on to their Facebook page yesterday we saw comments from other people with the same story.”

Mitch Lowe of Trademark Live, the presenter of the tour alongside Mai FM, TEG and Bobby Dee, said the shows would happen in 2023 and they were waiting on the new concert dates from their overseas team.

“Anyone that wants a refund can obtain one any time. We have already done thousands.”
