The Rock is one of the greatest stars of WWE and it is no secret that he is one of the best mic-workers in the pro-wrestling business. His concert on 20th Anniversary of Monday Night RAW is one of the iconic segments in the history of the company. It was during this concert that he wrote a song that he dedicated to late Eddie Guerrero’s real-life wife Vickie Guerrero, who was then the GM of RAW. However, it seemed to be a romantic song, only to find by the fans that it was to roast her.
The Rock recalls the segment
‘The Great One’ is celebrating his 25th Anniversary in the business and recently took to his Instagram account to share the video clip of the segment and gave a trip down the memory lane for the fans. He wrote in the caption why the song was written but in real life, Vickie is a family friend of the former WWE Champion. Ric Flair Reveals If Vince McMahon Actually Fired Him
His caption read:
“In honor of #Rock25 with the @WWE and this weekends, #SurvivorSeries wrestling event.
Here’s one of my favorite ALL TIME LIVE segments on RAW
For context for all of you who are wondering why I’m roasting the hell outta this lovely lady ~ in the storyline, @guerrero_vickie was a HORRIBLE person who made life HELL for everyone she came in contact with on the show
She was absolutely HATED, and in wrestling parlance ~ when you’re hated, that’s a GREAT THING
Now the irony is, Vicki Guerrero in real life, is a longtime family friend who we absolutely LOVE and one of the SWEETEST, LOVELIEST HUMANS alive!
The role of a “hot heel” (villain) is to serve up the “white hot babyface” (hero) when it’s time, so Vicki is a brilliant PRO here. And my DNA is to always connect and entertain “the millions” so I’m having a fucking blast!!
Shout to my @sevenbucksprod team @hhgarcia41 and Brian Gewirtz who wrote this song with me at 3am the night before in my hotel suite, whilst drinking tequila and energy drinks
Good luck to all the wrestlers this weekend — move the crowd, make your money and HAVE FUN!!
