The Rock vs. Roman Reigns Rumored For New PPV

During a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed how he believes the widely-speculated match between ‘The Brahma Bull’ Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson and ‘The Tribal Chief’ Roman Reigns will not be taking place this year and instead most likely, moving to either the WrestleMania at either WrestleMania 38.

WrestleMania 38 will be held at the AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas or at WrestleMania 39 which will be held at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Wrestling-Edge transcribed Meltzer’s comments. Hulk Hogan also recently revealed a The Rock WrestleMania photo from their match.

Meltzer: The thing I thought about was, The Rock and Roman Reigns is not going to be happening this year. I always assumed that it was being saved for WrestleMania in Los Angeles. However, it could have also been held in Dallas. I know how Dwayne’s brain works on these things. Dwayne has a certain mentality and I know it from all of our discussions that to him, and I guess it’s because of how grew up, that the idea of doing the match in front of one-hundred thousand people means a lot to him.

Meltzer would then continue:

Also obviously it’s not going to be anything close to that this year so if he’s going to do something and I don’t know if he would and there are other things that are more important than WrestleMania that could get in the way at any time. I always thought that WrestleMania at SoFi Stadium, you would do that. The Rock is also reportedly ‘locked in’ this next WWE match.
