Triple H calls Cain Velasquez’s signing a ‘Ronda Rousey moment’

Cain Velasquez made his WWE debut during last week’s episode of SmackDown Live and since then it has been confirmed that he has signed a 2 years deal with the company.

The promotion then held a press conference before this week’s SmackDown to confirm that Velasquez will be facing Brock Lesnar for the WWE title at the upcoming Crown Jewel PPV.

Cathy Kelley interviewed Triple H after the press conference took place and while commenting on the signing of the former UFC Star, H called it a ‘Ronda Rousey’ moment:

“It’s big. Whenever you can get the level of an athlete of Cain Velasquez, it’s a Ronda Rousey moment. He’s now a WWE superstar. He’s now fully engaged with us. It’s phenomenal. Household name. The biggest thing for me is world-class athletes.”

However later in the interview, Triple H explained that Brock Lesnar will have the advantage in this match because Cain will have to go through a transitioning period from MMA to WWE.
