Toni Storm won the NXT UK Women’s championship by defeating Rhea Ripley at NXT TakeOver UK: Blackpool. It was an uphill battle for her. Not only did she struggle to get into WWE, but she also suffered a very serious personal problem.
Storm was recently hacked and her personal photos and video were leaked online. It was an unfortunate incident for her, but she remained strong. She also had a lot of support from the IWC as #WeSupportToni went viral on social media.
During the NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool post-show interview on Facebook, Triple H praised Toni Storm. Here is what he said:
“Toni Storm fighting through an injury, coming back at the Mae Young Classic. Just having an incredible year and then meeting with a lot of unfortunate circumstances. Not just injury, but personal. You know that’s a sign of strength in somebody. It’s not how hard you get knocked down, it’s not what gets you down in life, it’s the ability to get up and just keep going.”
Of course, Triple H has a lot of respect for Toni Storm, as she has proven her worth in WWE in a very short time. We will have to see how her reign as champion will be.
