WWE NXT took place on Tuesday this week and it seems they could be making this move to Tuesdays a permanent thing. It depends on the USA Network and it seems they are already on the same page.
The Wednesday Night Wars have not been taking place for a while now as both NXT and AEW have been forced to air on different days owing to sporting events taking up their usual timeslots. WWE NXT saw a huge increase in their ratings without any competition from AEW. According to a report by Fightful Select, the idea to move NXT to Tuesdays has been around for a long time.
The report stated that a couple of months ago USA Network made the suggestion that NXT be shifted to Tuesdays. WWE did not pay heed then, but it seems they could be making the move soon.
It is to be noted that some in the company said: “they aren’t as committed to the competition aspect of NXT on Wednesday night considering it costs them viewers.”
The two weeks of NXT taking place on Tuesdays are said to be a “test run.” We will have to see if the move will be permanent.
