Vince McMahon Blocks Raw Star From Going To AEW

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon doesn’t consider Finn Balor a top star anymore as his ‘push’ was seemingly stopped. It seems he also does not want him to leave WWE and join AEW.

Vince McMahon refrains Finn Balor from joining AEW

According to Ringside News, McMahon was never a fan of The Prince to begin with, even when they put the Universal Title on him. WWE is aware that “AEW would bend over backward” for Finn Balor, believing AEW President Tony Khan would be willing to sign Balor once his deal is up:

“Vince never had faith in Balor. Even when he made him the first Universal Champion. Paul Heyman would feel much differently if he was still Executive Director of RAW. That being said, WWE has not released the first-ever Universal Champion. His contract isn’t cheap, but ‘even if he’s making a million a year, that’s not a lot of money by today’s standards,” the report said.

It was Austin Theory who emerged victorious against Balor on the latest episode of Monday Night RAW. The latter’s last major run came during his second tenure on the black-and-gold brand, where he recaptured the NXT Championship. Before getting drafted to the red brand, he was also involved in a feud with Roman Reigns on SmackDown. However, it seems he is just there to put over up-and-coming talents like Theory. It has been also noted how Vince considers him as a mid-carder. We will now have to wait and see what plans WWE has in store for the former WWE Universal Champion in the upcoming weeks.

Balor would defeat Seth Rollins in a singles match for the inaugural WWE Universal Championship on August 21, 2016 at that year’s WWE SummerSlam pay-per-view event. However, Finn Bálor vacated the Universal Championship due to a shoulder injury incurred at SummerSlam.
