Vince McMahon Offered AEW Tag Team $1 Million

Vince McMahon has deep pockets. Vince obviously has deep enough pockets to buy out his competition (WCW). Is Vince buying out the talent in AEW now to lessen the chance of his company losing fans and dollars? Shelton Benjamin ‘Furious’ With Vince McMahon At Raw.

Vince isn’t shy when it comes to spending money. Vince spends lavishly on his jets, his clothes, his donations and most importantly-his company. Word is now coming out way that Vince McMahon offered up $900,000 a year to keep them from jumping ship to AEW, a combined $1.8 million.

This news comes fresh from Dave Meltzer, who posted on F4WOnline.com forums: “Peacock is looking for numbers from WWE even worse than USA. Come up with a better idea aside from WrestleMania to do so. [Chris Jericho on Broken Skull Sessions] is Vince giving his new partner a show that will do massive numbers and help Peacock position WWE stronger in its marketing, which is a big win for WWE.

Dave concludes: “I’m surprised Vince okayed it even so, but it makes sense. But obviously things have changed from offering The Revival 900K a year each to keep them from leaving and not giving Paul Wight an offer to stay as big as Khan did. Christian story is very different.”
