AEW and WWE have a rivalry going on as many are well aware of. The key here, however, is what if this is all made up? What if only we believe that the two companies are against each other? This is starting to seem to be the case more and more as Vince McMahon is caring less and less about what hints at the AEW brand are dropped on his show. This time, the hint was dropped by Edge. Edge was featured this week on SmackDown where Seth Rollins invaded his home. That home invasion was filmed at Edge’s actual Asheville, North Carolina residence. Following the segment, Edge was shown talking to Beth Phoenix on the phone and the WWE Hall of Famer informed his wife that he called “Daniel and David” for help.
Daniel Wheeler and David Harwood to be clear. Some fans might know them better as FTR. Even further, fans may know them as Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler. The internet went wild with this poke at the two by Edge and many fans thought that Vince would lose it to this.
However, the official report is that no one really flinched. From a source in WWE, it was stated: “No one backstage cared. Not Vince McMahon, Bruce Prichard, John Laurinaitis or Kevin Dunn.” Special thanks to Ringside News.
