SummerSlam kicked off with the RAW Women’s Championship match as Bianca Belair successfully retained her title against Becky Lynch. After the bout, the latter shook hands with Belair and hugged her, seemingly turning babyface. One of the women in the bout may have suffered a shoulder/arm injury in the heat of the match. In a recent photo from the event, ‘Big Time Becks’ was seen leaving the arena with the medical team while keeping her arm close to her body.

Becky Lynch turned babyface and teams with Bianca Belair
As it seems, Triple H is already making some huge changes that wouldn’t be done if Vince McMahon was in charge. The idea to turn her heel a year ago wasn’t universally praised and last night appeared to be a correction made by the new Head of Creative, Triple H. ‘Big Time Becks’ will now work alongside Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and perhaps one other woman in a feud against Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky and Bayley.
During a PWTorchVIP.com audio show, Wade Keller confirmed that the decision to turn Lynch back to a babyface was not in the plans just a couple of weeks ago before Vince McMahon resigned as CEO of the company.
“I can now confirm Becky was not gonna turn if Vince McMahon was still in control. That was a Paul Levesque call. I just got confirmation on that. She would have been a heel as we’re talking right now if McMahon was still running things. So, one big change early on there.”
Fans were also thrilled for not one but three huge returns after this. First, former SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley made her long-awaited return to a massive pop from the fans in attendance in Nashville. Following her, Dakota Kai made a surprise return after being released earlier this year. Finally, former NXT Women’s Champion Io Shirai made her main roster debut. We will see what is next for the stable.
