Buddy Murphy has risen to fame and success in the past few months on RAW. Reports suggest that the Executive Director Paul Heyman has very high hopes from the former Cruiserweight Champion.
Murphy is currently one-half of the RAW Tag Team Champions alongside Seth Rollins. The two men alongside AOP are engaged in a feud with the likes of Kevin Owens, Samoa Joe, and The Viking Raiders.
However, it seems like, going forward the company will be addressing Buddy Murphy as just “Murphy”. The company’s official website has made these changes to Murphy’s Superstar profile already.

This phenomenon of eliminating Superstars’ first name has become the norm within the company. The reason behind this is only known to the man who makes these decisions, i.e. Vince McMahon himself.
