WWE NXT ‘Rips Off’ Cody Rhodes?

WWE NXT showcased a vignette for an upcoming faction called the Diamond Mine. Little is known about the upcoming stable, however wrestling journalist Ryan Satin offered some potential clues as he tweeted out pictures from WWE performance center talents Ezra Judge and Xyon Quinn, known at the Performance Center as ‘The Trust’ who tagged WWE NXT in their respective tweets. It has been revealed as well that the company has filed trademarks for Diamond Mine, Qiao Liang, The Bridge, Nu Wu, The Witch, Qi Yue, The Covenanter, Quan Tou and Ji Lu. WWE filed for the trademarks on December 30th. Did this top WWE name recently bury a WWE NXT star?

However while Satin was questioning about the emerging group, the official Twitter account for WrestleZone tried to connect dots by offering the notion that fans could very well believe this is nothing more than a direct rip off of the popular AEW stable – The Factory, headed by former associate of Cody Rhodes, QT Marshall, and formerly known as Cody Rhodes’ Nightmare Family. The outlet proclaimed in response to Satin: If so, get ready for plenty of claims that they’re stealing from AEW’s The Factory. #WWENXT”

However one member of the WWE universe offered another possibility – that ‘Diamond Mine’ could be in reference to Tessa Blanchard. There is little to suggest that is the case, except for this tweet by Blanchard that was tweeted out which said: “This past year I’ve learned so much & I’m very proud of the women I am today. I love wrestling so much.” While Blanchard has been rumored to come to WWE NXT for a while now, it is highly unlikely the teaser that was on this week’s edition of WWE NXT has any connection to her.
