WWE Star ‘Beat Up’ By Top AEW Star

AEW veteran Paul Wight (formerly The Big Show in WWE) had run in Vince McMahon’s company which lasted for over two decades. He recently parted ways with WWE and joined AEW in nothing less than a shocker. Wight is a heavyweight and a powerhouse inside the squared circle. The Spirit Squad’s Kenny and Mikey beat The Big Show and Kane on the April 3, 2006 episode of Monday Night RAW. The Spirit Squad then made fun of The Big show by encouraging him to pick up a sandwich during a match at a live event.

The Big Show was furious

While speaking on Rene Dupree’s Cafe de Rene podcast, former Spirit Squad member Johnny Jeter accused The Big Show of legitimately beating him up on live television.

“I would have handled the situation differently. It is not like I will go to the f***ing Big Show and go, ‘You son of a b****. How dare you put my career on the line or my job on the line or my health and safety on the line by f***ing legitimately beating me up in the ring like that on live TV.’ I had a lot of feelings about it, but it just isn’t something you can voice out.”

Though Paul Wight has been accused, he is more than happy working in AEW. He has been working a commentator and he also guides the young talents to shape up their future in the pro-wrestling industry. We will have to see what else AEW has in store for the veteran star.

Fellow AEW star QT Marshall had a notable feud with Paul Wight that led to the two having a match at 2021’s AEW All Out. Despite negative fan reaction, Marshall proclaimed that the entire angle was a success. Credit to Wrestlezone for the following.

“The ones that are in the live arena that are booing and getting into the stuff we did, that’s what I listen to because that’s pro wrestling. “At the end of the day, the audience’s reaction is the only thing that matters, from a business perspective, of course, the rating matters as well which is, thanks to Paul, the rating was always good. Paul Wight is who he is, he’s a major star in professional wrestling. For the fans that didn’t want to see it or whatever, then sure, don’t watch it, but if you look at the actual numbers, I’m talking about the straight numbers, people watched it.”
