WWE Chief Brand Officer Stephanie McMahon recently shocked the pro wrestling freaternuty when she let the pro-wrestling world that she is taking a hiatus. She announced that she’ll be taking a “leave of absence” from WWE. Announcing on Twitter, Stephanie wrote the following statement that she’ll be stepping down from the majority of her responsibilities in WWE to focus on her family. She also added that she’s looking forward to returning.
“As of tomorrow, I am taking a leave of absence from the majority of my responsibilities at WWE. WWE is a lifelong legacy for me and I look forward to returning to the company that I love after taking this time to focus on my family,” wrote Stephanie in her tweet.
Mark Henry supports the decision of Stephanie McMahon
It was recently noted Stephanie McMahon’s team was also released during the round of budget cuts. Speaking about the incident on the latest Busted Open Radio podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently shared his take on the matter . He went on to emphasized how tough it is for a working parent to be there for their kids. ‘The World’s Strongest Man’ the went on to add that he understands the situation Stephanie is in:
” She’s [Stephanie] got three [kids]. I have two, and it’s hard,”- said Mark Henry. “She’s got three. She got to go to their parent conferences, the grandparent’s day, the this, the that, all of the stuff that you have to do as a parent times three and not let one kid feel left out. What about birthdays at school? You know, they have birthday parties at school, one in private, one in public. I understand what that is. Those kids want their mom there.”
Stephanie McMahon also revealed she recently suffered an injury but that she is making great progress in training to get back to full strength. She recently made a WWE appearance at WrestleMania 38 when he introduced the Olympic Gold Medalist Gable Steveson to the fans in attendance. There is currently no timetable for Stephanie McMahon to return to the WWE. We will have to wait and see when Stephanie decides to make her return to the company.
