AJ Styles has made up his mind about WWE retirement – reveals why

AJ Styles has had a great career in WWE, despite only being in the company for just four years. He signed his newest contract with the company last year. But he has made it clear multiple times that this would be his last one.

 


 

In a recent stream on his Twitch profile, Styles revealed why he wants to retire from WWE once his current deal expires in 2024.

Styles revealed that he really wants to retire, and his kids have a lot to do behind that decision. He said that the pandemic gave him a lot of time spend with his children, something that he has not been able to do in the past. Retirement from WWE would mean more such family time for The Phenomenal One.

“I want to retire. I really do. I’m going to give you a breakdown of what’s going on this Friday. I’m going to leave – and listen, it could be a lot worse, but with everything going on with the COVID and what not, I’ve gotten to see my kids’ practices. That’s really cool for me. My son’s games for varsity football are on Friday nights. I perform on Friday nights. This Friday isn’t one of those. For whatever reason, they moved it to Saturday. He’s going to have a Saturday football game and I’m going to get to see it.” H/T Wrestling Inc

There were speculations of Styles joining AEW, which has been confirmed by Matt Jackson in an interview early on. That deal clearly did not go through, but the discussions reportedly helped Styles land a better one with WWE. The

AJ Styles recently confirmed that he had tested positive for COVID-19 around a month ago, but did not face much trouble with recovery.
