AEW Dynamite Rating Up Big, Did It Beat Raw?

AEW honored Brodie Lee on a special episode of Dynamite last night featuring the former Erick Rowan’s debut, with the demo skyrocketing, but was it enough to beat WWE Monday Night Raw?

AEW drew 977,000 viewers and a 0.40 18-49 demo rating, obliterating NXT’s 586,000 viewers with a 0.12 demo. AEW was up 202,000 viewers from last week and their demo was up as well from 0.32 last week, but WWE Monday Night Raw still topped AEW with a 0.52.

Raw on December 14th drew a 0.41 demo rating, losing to AEW Dynamite’s 0.45 the prior week. Despite Raw and Dynamite still being far apart in viewership with Raw hovering around 1.5-1.8 million viewers and AEW in the 700,000-1 million range, the demo ratings have tightened, an impressive feat just a little over a year after TNT launched Dynamite.

AEW’s team were proud of their Brodie Lee tribute show, with Tony Schiavone tweeting, “I will never forget the love shown tonight. #BrodieLeeTribute Thanks to each and every fan for the kind remarks. The memory of Brodie will never fade #AEW #AEWDynamite.”

Tony Khan said about Dynamite, “Thank you everyone who joined us tonight on #AEWDynamite to celebrate the life of Jon Huber, known to fans as Mr. Brodie Lee. It was a great honor to host his family Amanda, Brodie & Nolan. I bought the rights to Ol’ 55 by Tom Waits in perpetuity so that tribute will last forever.”
