Oscar de la Hoya Drug Overdose News Stuns Fans

Update: Oscar de la Hoya is hospitalized in a sad new video after getting COVID-19.

Oscar de la Hoya is set to take on Vitor Belfort on September 11th, 2021 at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, California in what is being billed as “The Most Anticipated Fight of the Decade”. Prior to that mega-matchup however, De La Hoya sat down with Jeremy Piven on his ‘How U Livin J Piven’ podcast where he revealed that he during his time as a retired competitor he overdosed on drugs. Wrestling-Edge transcribed the following remarks.

This Oscar de la Hoya ‘embarrassing’ dating rumor recently leaked. De La Hoya: This was once after I retired. Within those ten years of just losing myself I ended up just f***ing overdosing. Nobody knew. Doctor’s hid it, and it’s like I have f***ing minions that just hide everything, right? If Oscar does something? Hide it. I’d be out in the street at five in the morning, just walking like a zombie, almost getting ran over on the freeways – shit like that. Pretty bad, pretty bad.

In other news regarding De La Hoya, during a recent interview with FOX Sports, the ‘Golden Boy’ discussed the rise of celebrities in boxing such as Jake & Logan Paul and whether or not it’s a good thing for the sport. Credit to the outlet for the below.

“I grew up with a traditional way of boxing thinking,” De La Hoya added. “But we are in an era of evolution. People are interested in YouTubers and personalities. Having followers matters. People are making fights based off what will sell. I am living in both worlds right now.

“I definitely don’t look down at the (Jake Pauls), I actually look up to it. I see Jake Paul fight and I think ‘all those new fans for boxing.’ When those fans see a fight for a championship they will appreciate and understand it more.” Oscar de la Hoya also recently leaked this teen rape allegation
