AEW star Bryan Danielson is currently dealing with an injury. The company had some big plans for ‘The American Drgaon’ at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view. However, Danielson was not medically cleared for in-ring competition. It was Claudio Castagnoli, who made his debut at the show and ended up replacing him as Zack Sabre Jr.’s opponent.
Bryan Danielson is seemingly not returning anytime soon
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the timetable for Bryan Danielson’s comeback is uncertain. The hope is that he will make it back by the Fall of this year.
The silver lining is that the ratings this summer are probably not as important as in the fall, winter and spring, when the new distribution contract is being negotiated. Punk should be back by then. Danielson is unknown because if it is a concussion, and with his history, there is no timetable, but one certainly hopes he would be back.
Claudio Castagnoli (formerly Cesaro in WWE) made his surprise debut at the recently-concluded AEW x NJPW: Forbidden Door pay-per-view. and the fans were left surprised. He had been not been particularly interested in wrestling since he left WWE when his contract expired in February. The former WWE RAW Women’s Champion Becky Lynch recently reacted to the huge moment.
‘The Swiss Cyborg’ was one of the last people Danielson worked with in WWE and has been praised multiple times by the featured member of The Blackpool Combat Club. We had reported how he had been training for a return. Claudio has a history with Sabre Jr, as the two wrestled an Iron Man match in Westside Xtreme Wrestling. Danielson had stated on Dynamite that whoever his replacement will be the newest member of The Blackpool Combat Club.
