Velveteen Dream to be called up soon?

As the Superstar Shakeup approaches, more NXT stars are expected to make their way to the main roster. NXT is stacked with talent, so who might get the call up is anyone’s guess. AOP, No Way Jose, Ember Moon and the IIconics have already made the jump this past week.

Sanity is rumored to be working with Bray Wyatt soon. Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas and Zelina Vega have impressed WWE officials, and with Almas losing his NXT Championship to Aleister Black at NXT TakeOver: New Orleans, it’s possible that the duo finds themselves working Monday or Tuesday nights.

One name that is being discussed backstage is none other than Velveteen Dream. Dream has been a highlight on NXT since debuting his new gimmick, and has put on classic matches with the likes of Aleister Black, Johnny Gargano, and most recently, delivered in the NXT North American Championship ladder match. The ladder match, along with Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa, earned 5-star ratings from Dave Meltzer.

According to F4WOnline, there are “different schools of thought on it.” So, basically, while he clearly has the character and in-ring work to make it, they probably want to keep him down in NXT a little while longer. However, there is a chance we could see the Vainglorious One on the main roster sooner rather than later.

Velveteen Dream has impressed fans and critics alike, and the fact that he’s only 22 years old means that, should he be handled correctly, he could be a top player in the WWE for years to come.

Who would you like to see jump to the main roster during the Superstar Shakeup?
