AEW Star Confronted Brock Lesnar At Gym

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently shared an incident that involved Brock Lesnar during their time in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW) which ended up being painful for ‘The World’s Strongest Man.’

Mark Henry reveals the incident

Lesnar made his debut in WWE’s developmental territory, OVW, in 2000 after establishing a career in amateur wrestling and winning the NCAA All-American Championship twice. Meanwhile, by that time, Henry had already spent four years in WWE and was known for his raw strength. He was with OVW during the time Lesnar joined as he was honing his wrestling skills.

During an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling Senior Editor Bill Apter, Mark Henry reminisced the time when he called upon ‘The Beast Incarnate’ to challenge his move Final Exam Time during the latter’s time in OVW. In a show of strength, Henry tried to slam Lesnar while in a chokehold and in the process hurt himself.

The current AEW personality also stated that when he saw The Beast Incarnate at the gym, he thought of it as the opportune moment to test his strength.

“And I used to do this ‘Final Exam Time’ and finally it got to the time where Brock [Lesnar] was in there [the gym] and I was like, ‘Alright, today’s the day, let’s go’. And he was like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I was like ‘C’mon, let’s go. You’re a tough guy. I want to see if it works.’,” Henry said.

The former WWE star added that he was arrogant at the time and thought he was invincible, as no one compared to his strengths.

“Because I didn’t think Karate worked. I mean, it will work on somebody that was you know, their own size, but like putting me in a chokehold or trying to kick me. I didn’t think would work. And that was just the arrogance of the strength that I had at that time. You know, I felt like if you pulled a gun out, it wouldn’t kill me.”

The former WWE star had also recently recalled Lesnar was afraid of getting fired. Lesnar is currently one of the biggest stars of WWE. Lesnar and Roman Reigns are once again set to collide inside the squared circle and fans are thrilled about it. ‘The Beast Incarnate’ made a shocking return on last week’s edition of Friday Night SmackDown and sent a statement to ‘The Tribal Chief’ after hitting an ‘F-5.’

It transpired after Reigns successfully defended his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Riddle. A WWE Hall of Fame recently pitched an idea that would help Lesnar. The multi-time World Champion Randy Orton is out of action with a back injury and it caused WWE to change their plans for the Trible Chief at SummerSlam.

Reigns and Lesnar are set to go head to head at WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event on Saturday, July 30.  WWE also revealed a poster featuring Lesnar. It seems WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is not a fan of the match taking place several times.
