AJ Style reacts to WWE’s ban on third party engagements

WWE recently sent a notice to the Superstars directing them to not engage with third parties on platforms like YouTube, Cameo, Twitch etc. They are to end all such activities within October 2. It is likely to affect several WWE Superstars who regularly use their social media accounts, like AJ Styles.

Vince McMahon himself sent out a letter to the talents were intimating them of the decree. It stated that violation of the rule can lead to fine, suspension, or even termination of contract if WWE deem it necessary.

AJ Styles talks about third party ban

AJ Styles, who is quite active on his Twitch account, addressed the third party ban on his latest stream. He revealed that his sources have told him WWE wants the Superstars to interact with the fans.

“Let’s talk about the stream. Is it going to continue? And from the contacts that I’ve had, the information I got is WWE does want us to interact with our fans, and that means streaming. They want this to happen, they want you to have a YouTube channel, there are things they want you to do and be able to do and what we knew was a little vague at first.“ H/T Post Wrestling

So he is not sure what exactly the company would be banning in this new rule , but he does not think Twitch or YouTube is going to be one.

“We did different things and it was borderline whether we knew we could do it or not and so, those will be answered but streaming I don’t think will be one of those that are taken away, um, YouTube is not one of those that will be taken away. There will be changes in other areas I’m sure of it and I don’t know exactly where that is. But let me say this again, they, the WWE want us to be able to stream and interact with our fans and that’s exactly what we’re doing, that’s exactly what I’m doing. From Adam Cole to Breeze and Xavier Woods, Baron Corbin it’s what we do, it’s fun.”

Last update on third party ban

Most of the former and current roster members reacted negatively to the rule. There was a lot of confusion regarding the ban initially and a lot of questions still remain to be answered.

However, WWE later released a statement on the same which you can read here. They also clarified later on last episode of WWE RAW that Superstars were allowed to maintain social media accounts under their real name, but not in the ring names or as the characters they portray on WWE.
