Christian Leaves WWE, Appears Headed To AEW

Christian is no longer under contract to WWE or Fox Sports, WrestlingInc.com’s Raj Giri has confirmed. Giri apologized for his report stating Christian was under WWE contract. All signs point to Christian debuting at AEW Revolution on Sunday. Christian was ‘pulled’ from a proposed WWE Fastlane match.

Giri tweeted, “My apologies everyone, I had tweeted earlier this week that Christian was ‘confirmed’ signed with WWE. Christian was apparently under contract with FOX Sports and not WWE, and that deal may be up as well. I apologize for the error.”

Giri also said talks ‘fell through’ with Christian and WWE, and that Christian signing with AEW is a ‘real possibility,’ though it’s unclear if he is the much hyped ‘big signing.’

Tony Khan has said the new signee is ‘committed’ to AEW, will wrestle regularly, and is one of his favorite wrestlers ever. Big Show hyped the debut on Dynamite Wednesday night as a ‘huge scoop.’ An AEW executive is confirmed as have reached out to Christian on Instagram, unfollowing him on Saturday after fans noticed.

Christian returned to WWE at the Royal Rumble and hinted it could be a ‘one and done’ for WWE, and it looks like this may be true if he does end up signing with AEW. Christian debuting at AEW Revolution 2021 as the ‘mystery’ name would be similar to his TNA Genesis 2005 debut, when he was also a mystery name.
