Rey Mysterio ‘Pulled’ From WrestleMania 37

Rey Mysterio won’t be on the actual WrestleMania 37 card, as he’ll wrestle on Smackdown’s WrestleMania go home special next week. It will be Dolph Ziggler/Bobby Roode © vs. Rey and Dominik Mysterio vs. Otis/Chad Gable vs. Street Profits. This is sad news, as Rey and Dominik could have won the tag titles at WrestleMania.

Rey Mysterio has clearly been a thorn in the side of Murphy for quite some time now and it was recently reported that WWE ordered Murphy to take down a social media post targeting Mysterio. In a follow up to this story, noted wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer stated that Murphy is currently frustrated with his ‘plight’ in WWE. Meltzer stated the following quote – credit to SportsKeeda for the following quote. It was recently revealed that Rey Mysterio ‘ruined’ this Randy Orton match.

“Murphy is clearly frustrated by his plight right now. His angle with the Mysterios ended. He in theory is back as a heel although who knows as the only thing he did was try and get back with Rollins and get blown off.”

In other news regarding Rey Mysterio, during a recent edition of Something to Wrestle, Bruce Prichard discussed Rey Mysterio winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship back at WrestleMania 22. He told Conrad Thompson the following.

“I think Mysterio was one of those guys you couldn’t do without. Rey had a way of coming in, and wherever he was, whatever he did, I think that Rey was that special kind of talent that he could go out and lose every single night still people were happy to see him because he’s Rey Mysterio. He delivers every time he’s out there…..Pat Patterson was one of the people that was very vocal about what to do with Rey and when to do it and why not Rey. So, every time Rey went out, you heard the audience and you just saw the reaction that Rey was getting. The audience wanted them some more Rey Mysterio, so it was kind of hard to deny it.”  This huge Rey Mysterio WrestleMania title match is rumored.
