Segment caused ‘chaos’ at SmackDown last night

Reportedly the backstage situation at SmackDown last night was said to have been ‘chaos.’ On F4W’s Daily Update they noted that the WWE creative team were still re-writing the show as of Thursday night.

The re-write is the primary reason that no matches were announced ahead of the show on Friday night. Apparently the Otis segment caused the issues as it became the top concern and everything else got delayed subsequently.

It’s been reported over the last year (mainly since Money In The Bank) that Vince McMahon is a huge fan of Otis as a character and performer. Clearly McMahon is putting a lot of emphasis on Otis’ on-screen presentation, which may have been at the detriment of the show this week.

Triple H was also reportedly brought in to help with the show last night. WWE were concerned with the show moving to FS1 for the night that the drop in viewership would be significant.
