Tony Khan Reveals Surprise AEW Signing Photo

Tony Khan, AEW Chairman and CEO recently took to social media via Twitter to boast a new signing for AEW, although this isn’t the ‘Hall of Fame worthy’ signing that many are speculating about. ‘Captain’ Shawn Dean, a favorite for those who keep up with AEW’s YouTube program, AEW Dark was recently signed to a new contract. Khan tweeted the following remarks, welcoming Dean to the team. This WWE star is ‘begging’ Tony Khan for a job in AEW.

“Thank you for your service to the USA, @ShawnDean773, + thank you for everything you’ve done for @AEW to help us thrive through the pandemic. Your consistent hard work, positivity + reliability have made you so valuable to #AEW; now it’s my honor to officially welcome you aboard!”

While Dean has hardly won any matches during his time in All Elite Wrestling, he has competed against some of the biggest names in the company, from MJF to Ricky Starks. His last appearance for the company was on the October 20, 2020 edition of Dark in a losing effort against Matt Sydal.

In other news revolving Tony Khan, the AEW Chairman compared the now recently-ended Wednesday Night Wars between AEW Dynamite and WWE NXT to the Monday Night Wars between WCW’s Monday Nitro and WWE’s Monday Night Raw. Khan recently made the following remarks while speaking with Alfred Konuwa of Forbes. Tony Khan revealed that he attended this surprising WWE NXT show.

“I think it’s—like sports fans—it’s a healthy thing,” Khan said. “I think there was maybe more of this [online bickering] during the Monday Night Wars on the internet than people might have realized. As I got older, I went through phases. From probably Age 12 through Age 15, most of my life was online, and most of my time spent was spent on wrestling online… so it was a lot like this, actually.

Khan continued: “There were people that were very strong on one side or the other, and there were some people who were really 100% one way or the other, 90% one way or the other, 80%, whatever. And you leaned one way or another. I think there were a lot of people like that on the internet, but there just were way less people on the internet. When I was a kid it was pretty much firing back and forth, very similar.” Vince McMahon recently received this big offer from Tony Khan.
